I wondered why the price was so good. When the tools arrived just thrown in the box with minimum padding I noticed it said reconditioned. Also the ad mentioned a removable stud finder. There isn't one. And the 18 volt battery included is the cheaper one without the leds to tell you if it is low in charge. That said the tools work but if I had known it was reconditioned, I may have not purchased it.

It's really beyond what I expected. I never expect to have such set of tool for household usage at such low price. Even it is the first set of such tools, I feel pretty comfortable to use them. The torque of screwdriver is strong enough for most of the works. Maybe it won't strong enough to drill a hole in the metal piece. But that's far beyond my job requirement. I am sure I can save lots of maintenance cost with the help of this toolset.

I've had this only for a few weeks. Haven't used the grinder or sawzall yet. Built a wooden gate, and the little circular saw did an impressive job cutting 2x4s. It's very light and maneuverable. Also ripped through some cedar like butter.

The hammer drill went through block in no time-- very glad I bought it. Driver is fine. No frills, works well.

I haven't had enough use to comment on battery life. One of the cells indicates reversed polarity when charging sometimes. I should probably call B&D before the month is up.

This has come in so handy. I purchased a fixer-upper in February 2010 and wish I had purchased this at the same time. I eventually broke down to get this in April and man was I glad. I have used these tools so many times to complete various tasks. I think the cost to get these tools caused me to stay away and continue to borrow tools, but the fact remains that you will save so much money over the time of ownership by being able to complete your own projects versus paying someone else to come in and do it.

"Best drill driver set for the money" 2010-10-19

I have an aging Dewalt cordless drill whose batteries would not hold their charge. Doing a cost/benefit analysis, it seemed to make sense to get a new drill rather then buy new batteries which are really pricey. In researching the options on Amazon, I came across this Milwaukee drill/driver combo. I couldn't believe the price, and the reviews were on the whole very strong. So I took the plunge, spending slightly more than I would have if I just purchased the drill.

I've never used an impact driver before, and it is quickly becoming indispensable. You can't believe the power in this little package - no more torqing out, damaged screw heads, and the like. Now it will take a little time to feel what each drill is best at, but for sheer driving power of screws and bolts, the impact driver is unbelievable.

The drill is also very good, though my only complaint is that the speed switch can stick a little going between the 1st and 2nd gears. I'll have to keep an eye on that.

All in all, they feel great in the hand, the batteries seem to have decent life, and I like the battery life indicator lights, a feature my old Dewalt never had. Great products, great value!

I was going to buy a cheaper brand cordless drive when we built our deck, but my son-in-law encouraged me to look at this set from Milwaukee. Yes, it cost 3x what the other driver cost, but it was well worth it. The impact driver has amazing torque and the Li-ion batteries are great and provide full power up until their last gasp. Charging is fast, so we never had any downtime - just kept swapping batteries all day.

the product its really nice, it works very good i recommended this item IF you own a drill case sturdy enough to protect your tools because this set comes with this cheap ugly nylon square bag that really does about 20% of protecting the tools. The bag it's a very bad idea and for me that i'm a general contractor and I used this tool in a daily basis, the way they packed these two beauty is odd and very bad design, it really steal away the original novel idea of how the drills works.

They work for a very long time before you have to recharge, and when you do, it doesn't take more than about 15 minutes.

If you aren't using both tools at once, you'll always have another battery ready.

I used these two drivers to install a new kitchen. They were small enough to fit in tight places to drill pilot holes and plenty of impact power to drive home screws to pull cabinets tightly together. I had to be careful not to drive the screws too deeply. They have good battery life and the charger charges the battery in about 20 min.

I was in the market for a :mini" impact driver. I have a Milwaukee "mini" drill Driver which I love. I also have 2 guys who work for me who use the tiny tools. We do a tremendous amount of Remote Starters and using a ratchet under the dash is fine but a little slow. Once I found this Makita set it was a no brainer. We have had 9.6v-12v Makita tools over the past 12 years. But this little set definitely takes the cake. The size alone is priceless for working on you back under the dash of a car. Certainly not enough torque for the "rusted" old Ford or GM bolts but 99% of the time it is the perfect tool. A MUST have to add to any tool box.

I would not trade in my old 18 volt Milwaukee cordless tools, but there are many times I need to get in a tight space or just don't need the extra power (with the extra weight that goes along with it). This set is great for that. The lithium ion batteries are great in that they have the gauge, but when they quit that is it. With the old NiCads you could get that last screw in maybe w/o having to grab another battery.
